(LIVE PERFORMANCE/INTERVIEW) Robin Taylor Zander goes ‘The Distance’ (Episode 910)

Robin Taylor Zander (Cheap Trick) joins me for this episode to talk about his debut album, “The Distance.”

The album’s a welcome and familiar mix of sounds. As Zander says on the album’s back cover: “You may hear something that reminds you of a different time or a different place… hopefully this record makes you feel a certain kind of way, whichever way that may be is fine with me”

Robin and I talk about “The Distance,” and are joined by legendary producer and engineer Jack Douglas (Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, John Lennon, Patti Smith Group, New York Dolls, Local H, etc.). Douglas’ Confidential Records label put out “The Distance,” and Jack helped mix the album.

After our conversation, including a few questions thrown to Jack, Robin grabbed his acoustic guitar and played two songs from the album: “One Might Wonder” and “In Front of Me.”
