Something we see repeatedly is that the gift, thrill and occasional curse of music is passed down from parents to their kids … and that’s what we have on display for this episode.

I’m joined for Episode 1024 by Brian Krumm (Great Crusades, Brian Krumm and his Barfly Friends) and his daughter, Hazel Krumm.

Two years ago, Brian put out his first solo album (as Brian Krumm and his Barfly Friends), “Just Fade Away.” At the end of last year, his teenage daughter Hazel released a remarkably sophisticated 3-song EP called “Backroads.”

I brought the two together to talk about music and family over dinner from Red Hot Ranch. What struck me the most is how much the two genuinely like each other. I mean, that’s how it should be, but you frequently hear family stories that are quite the opposite.
