Peanut Park Trattoria serves killer pasta, tiramisu and more in Little Italy (Episode 811)

Chicago Magazine says Peanut Park Trattoria (1359 W. Taylor St.) is one of the “10 hottest restaurants in Chicago right now.” Time Out named it one of the 30 best Italian restaurants in the city. The accolades are well-deserved.

Dave Bonomi, owner of Peanut Park Trattoria (1359 W. Taylor), joined me to talk about Peanut Park as we ate delicious pasta: He had Gemelli (amatriciana, stracciatella, basil) and I had Taglietelle (pistachio pesto, fried basil).

We talked about his first year in business … which had its challenges. We also talk about the menu and its evolution, as well as the “best God damn” tiramisu you’ll ever have. We also had a tiramisu fail during the recording.

Dave also bit his tongue at first, but eventually let me know that I’d been mispronouncing “trattoria.” I’m still embarrassed.

Looking for the perfect comfort meal during this Chicago winter? This is your spot.
